Ok so I need to know what other vehicles and years match the 91-94 Explorer front axles and steering knuckles?? I thought it was 88-92 Rangers and BroncoII's. I took an axle shaft spacer to salvage yard to match up maual locking Hub. The Rangers and BroncoII's axles were smaller than what I had. I found a 96 Ranger whose manual locking hub, based on axle spacer test, seemed to match up with my 91 Sports axle.

Please post a list with years so I can be sure I get the right steering knuckle and hub.

Bronco II's had a Dana 28 in the front, so that would be different right there.

Rangers usually had 14" wheels if I'm not mistaken, until the new bodystyle in '93.

Thanks but that only served to confuse me. My axle spline shaft is the larger D35, but this picture confuses me. My spindle looks like the one on the right. Is the right the hybrid D28??

i think that 96 ranger part is the correct one.... i remeber seeing somewhere that the rangers used the regular d35 ttb up until around 97 when they did the redesign of the truck and suspension components

I also read at the Ranger Station that the D44 steering knuckle could be used on the D35. Any thoughts on why do this? Also would the spindle look any different? Does anyone have a pic of a D44 spindleif different than the D35 spindle.

Well I have made a few trips to the salvage yard and I can't seem to find an 88-92 ranger or broncoII that has the same spindle as I've got or manual hub.

I did find 2 96 rangers one Splash that had the same hubs, but I couldn't see the spindles.

I think that the 88-92 's that I looked at were D28 axles because of the smaller axle spline size.

I also noticed that the 93&94 Explorers had different spindles. I am going to have to take a look at my knuckle because there was a 92, 93 & 94 that I looked at that had a silver round spot and I didn't recall seeing that on mine.

I would still like to see a pic of a D44 knuckle and spindle just to make sure mine weren't swapped.

Anyone know which of these is the D35 spindle? If its the one on the left then I have to replace my spindle as well. Cause it looks similar to the one on the right but bigger.
