I may have a faulty PCM in my 2002 4x4 Trac. The numbers on my PCM are 2L@A- 12A650-AC. What other PCM would work? (explorer, mountaineer, other)
I figure I could find a cheap one to swap & test.
I did find on for a 2000 Explorer 4x4 with the number F87F 12B523 BA would this work?

Does anyone know what the numbers mean?
Thanks

You will need to find a PCM that has matching numbers to your original PCM. Call Ford with your vin number and they may be able to tell you if another vehicle uses the same PCM but I highly doubt it. I would say that the Sport Trac doesn't share a PCM with any other vehicle.

Also just so you know after replacing the PCM you will need to have it programmed to your vehicle mainly because of PATS.

It figures...they gotta make a cheap fix get expensive.

Your part number should be 2L2A-12A650-AC with reflash programs available. AFAIK these are Sport Trac only, and your # is different from either one of my Trac's, which are both the same #.
