Im looking at this dealer 99 Explorer Limited v6 sohc 4x4 with 66,000 miles. Its loaded with everything but reverse sensing. Couldnt find any flaws on it except for the passenger seat plastic edge is separating from the seat which they would probably do for free, but what would you say is a good price for this. The salesman gave me a price of 8,500 over the phone. Then after tax title fees and all that about 9,000 ((he bumped it down from 9300 trying to give me a good deal so i wouldnt haggle :D )) After the 2 year 26mile warr he gave a price of 10,000. It still seems steep to me for a 7 year old car. Whats a fair price?

Based on how many SUV's and trucks are on the used market and how gas prices have gone, anything more than 60-70% of Blue Book value is too much. Go to kbb.com and get your value.

I paid 8500 for my 2000 Limited after tax title license. They were asking 10500 for it.

Im thinking of 8300 plus tax title and liscensing fees. Hes asking 9000 for all that. Plus a free 1 year warranty unlimited miles so i guess it sounds good since its a limited.

Hope it works out for you. I bought my 2000 last August- I paid 12k and thought I got a great deal. It's nearly flawless. It still books for 14,700.
It'd buy it and laugh all the way home. But I guess that's market differences- there are a ton of trucks and suv's on the roads here.

Don't even pay that much. Look around and see how many Explorers you can find around town; I know there's a ton of them in Michigan. Great deals are to be had on used SUV's right now and 700 lower than asking is not a great deal.

Check cars.com to get an idea of what similiar vehicles are going for in your area. Also, make the dealer give you a carfax report on it. If it's ever been wrecked, leased, or auctioned, I'd walk away. Also, make sure there aren't any odometer discrepancies.

well just my 2 cents i bought a 99 eb loaded 4x4 leather, dual air. only no sunroof. one owner clean car fax just over 90,000. $5800. there is tons of them down here

bought 99 ltd, all the bells, flawless, dual air, sunroof, etc, needed tires, paid 6000, look around...

well i bought my limited 2000 X about 3 months ago.......i got it for a screaming deal. only two things with it nasty crack in paint on the hatch and 115,000. after having the paint fixed it came to 6,600 but thank god for the dealership owner was a personal friend so i got the hook up shall i say, over all with the repainted hatch and what not.....i paid 4,550

Damn i feel good. My truck isnt the best of the best explorers, but everything works for the crapload of miles i have one it, and it has every option for a 97....(its definitely nice for me bieng 18) and i only paid 3k. Plus after i put thi new tranny itll come to about 4500 for a car that works great!
