I have 2 12 Cerwin-Vega subs on a 600watt Alpine V12 amp, a pair of Boston Acustics CX series 5X7s in the front, and a Alpine CDA-7837 CD player. My system sounds great, but I think there is still some more I can do. My only big complaint bout my front speakers is that when I turn my stereo up loud, the midbasses distort pretty bad, so I'm limited on my volume. I could get a 2 or 3 way speaker system, but I want my speakers to stay in the stock postition and place. I thought about Bass Blockers, but they sometimes "pop" during play. It'd be nice to be able to upgrade the front speakers with some better coaxials and then move my front speakers to my rear doors cause the stock ones have been long blown. Kinda long, but I think that sums up pretty well what I have to say. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks

Hey Randolph

Well, this is what I suggest. If you want to get new front speakers, then move your current ones to the rear doors, and then get a four channel amp with a built-in crossover to drive them. Around 50-75 w/ch RMS should be perfect. With the crossover, you wouldn't get distortion from your midbass speakers and they would sound much better than being driven off the head unit.

mike gave the perfect advice.

also if you are planning on doing more, get a good high power component set for the kickpanels. 75+ rms will be fine.
5 1/4" or 6 1/2" will give great midbass reponse while 1"dome tweeters handle the highs. the stereo imaging will be excellent and provide a great front stage without distortion.
