1993 ford explorer XLT
hello i just got my 1993 ford explorer xlt 4x4 about a month ago looking for some ideas for it. it has 78000 miles on it :D its a real gem!! :) i dont have alot of cash right now but i know i want to do a small lift and put some bigger tires on it. i dont plan on doing any super big off roading but i do love being able to hit mudd holes here and there and going on a few trails... basically i dont need anything super fancy or top of the line. just something to make my truck have a better more aggressive stance and be able to do some decent off road stuff. any ideas??? let me know she is completely stock right now:feedback:

start with a set of aggressive 31s youd probably be surprized how good it is offroad. deffinettly want to put towhooks on makes it easier to get out of the mud if u do get stuck

Yeah stick with some 31's, towhooks are a good idea too. if you get stuck and don't have any recovery points then you're SOL. if you want more room for flex you can do a 2-3" body lift and/or a cheap 2" suspension lift. All those options are relatively cheap.

can i get a few pics showing me maybe what it could look like with this sort of set up you are describing? that would help alot

can you put 31'' tires on it at stock ride height?

MAKE SURE you get some tow hooks, I rescued about 4 people this winter, and was rescued once, and my rear bumper is just shot LOL

a set of warn locking hubs along with what the others are saying the hubs and the conversion kit come to about 230 but its well worth it the stock auto hubs arent really the explorers strong point.
