Just to make sure... Ok I have a 97 ex 4.0L sohc 4x4. The 4x4 switch inside the truck has a 4x4auto, 4x4high, 4x4low. When im normally driving I use 4x4auto right?

Correct. 4x4 high and 4x4 low is for when you are stuck somewhere or on loose ground like gravel or dirt.

yes 4x4 auto is what you want to use for normal driving. it is basically all wheel drive in this mode.
