I read that the listed tire pressure on my truck is incorrect and can damage the tires. What should I use?

Does the driver's door sticker say 26psi? If it does then Ford reissued a different sticker declaring that the pressure should be 30-32psi. IMO though that is still a little low, I run 35psi in my 92. The best way to find out would be to do a chalk test when the tires are new. Or a general rule of thumb is to run 10% less then the maximum listed on the tire.
Edit: I just remembered that in the automotive Q & A section of the newspaper I saw that they recommended to run 3psi over the car manufacturers recommendations.

35 psi seems to give the best most even tire wear and is what I run in mine.
