what size of exhaust ?

i have a 1995 explorer 4.0, i am thinking of running 3 inch pipes right from the catalayic converters to a flowmaster 44 then just making it a down pipe from there. anyone tried that on theirs? any opinions ? too big of pipes ?

I ran 2.5 from cat don't know if 3 is gonna rob too much back pressure
I have a 2000 sohc 4.0

Campoli, google "exhaust backpresure" and then never repeat that myth again.

OP, Like VZB told you in the thread you made yesterday, that is too big.

Exhaust that large means your exhaust charge will expand and slow, and you will get a bunch of turbulence in your system, increasing backpressure.
