Have been looking around at TB dont know what to decide maybe someone here can help, please.

BBK- read alot of people has this TB but I have also read that they have problems with it not closing all the way.

Edelbrock- this I think is BBK TB because it showed up as Edelbrock/BBK TB. Is this the BBK TB sold by Edelbrock and if it is not how is it.

Explorer Xpress- does anyone know if there product is manufactured by them or a dealer for someone.

Thanks

There's 2 TB's for the 4.0 OHV...

Stocker Ford one that is 56-58?? mm or something like that

The BBK one that is 66 mm

Another one that is 63 mm (can't remember manufacturer). Vanir sold the 63 mm one.

If it's a 66 mm TB, it's the BBK one, even if Edelbrock has stamped their name on it. Some of these companies frequently do that.

Rhett Browning,

Thanks for the info, I also notice that you have a bbk TB. Have you had any trouble from it sticking at a certain RPM?

I have one, but it wasn't closing all the way, which means that the idle wasn't kicking down. The BBK TB was defective. As soon as I find my packing invoice (with the return form) I will exchange it for another one. I got it from summit racing.

I sure liked the power my truck had with it though! If this new one does the same thing, I'll probably keep it, and rig up some spring or workaround to make sure the flap closes all the way at idle.

The Edelbrock is the same as the BBK....I've got it and haven't had any problems at all. I think it's great.

I was one of the first members with the BBK TB installed. Had it since September 1999 I believe, with no problems.
