Hi.

I have a 2003 Explorer XLT 4.0L

I need a new thermostat but I'm unsure which temp to get? Looking on Rock auto there is a few choices. I'm located in Canada and temps can be -40c to +40c

If it's stock I normally stick with the OEM thermostat temps which is normally 192-195 degree. Motorcraft is the OEM and then Motorad is a good alternative option if you are trying to save a bit of money. For performance builds we usually tune them to adjust the fans to come on earlier and drop the thermostat temp down to 160 degree range.

I got my motorcraft thermostat at an autoparts store for $15. So i guess it is not worth ordering it on rockauto bc they always charge for shipping and you will have to wait a few days.
