What to look for??

Hey

I'm considering buying a 98 explorer
and was wondering what i should look for.
You guys look like the people to ask!

Any problems related with this model, anything common I should look for

It has done a few kilometres 275xxx Km

is this alot?
with this many kilometres will I have any mechanical problems start to pop up?

any Info would be helpful

Explorer are known for driving into the 200,x..+ Km, might want to look for one with around 100,000+ also make sure you check for rust, general care and with any truck/car the engine maintenance, this is what makes a good Ex from a bad one...other than that the 98's had a problem with the cruise control switch (Hot at all times), which caused some problems with the break fluid which led to fiery explosions and houses being burnt to the ground....but most of them have had the wiring change...check for that...or just unplug the cruise control

Ive found another 98 explorer thats only done 130 xxxkm so Im going to look into that one.


ill definately look into the cruise control haha
