what tranny do i have???

I have a 93 xlt manual transmission explorer, and I'm trying to figure out what tranny it has in it.

I have done some reasearch and I have narrowed it down to either the m5r1 or the m5od .

Can anyone tell me which one my explorer has??

Call your local ford dealership/repair shop. Sometimes they list the type of part somewhere on the part. For example, I know I have a 327 ratio rear end because there was a small tag that told me so. May be a dumb suggestion, but so far, it's the best!

come on people....... I figure with all of you knowledgable explorer owners some one should be able to tell me what is the is the manual tranny uesed in the 1993 explorers...

I did a search and found that it looks like you have a mazda m5r1 tranny (also, I have yet to hear of someone having the mitsu tranny in their X)

I think the Mitsu's were only an early '91 thing, but not sure.

I, also, have yet to hear of someone actually having one.
