I need a new transmission but, I've heard from a few sources there was a few different models available. Which doesn't make any sense to me considering there wasn't many engines available...but anyway, I have a '97 Explorer with a 4.0 litre SOHC, automatic. How can I decypher what transmission I have? I don't have the truck with me, it's back in NY with my father. He's no gear head. Any help is appreciated.
