Stock alternator for the 1995 Explorer is 130 amp.

P.S.- you don't have the SOHC, Ford didn't start using that engine until 1997+ You have an OHV engine.

i dont think that is true....i think the limiteds have the 130A, not the standard x.

i doubt i have 130 myself, cause I get some serious voltage losses with 1200 watts to my sub, upgraded the alternator wire to 4 guage, and ground wire, but when I play it loud, it goes way down to 12.3volts, and I measured the curent, it seems to be drawing 107 amps, i doubt the car has 130A alt.

Just checked, according to Ford Factory Service either a 95 or 130 amp can be used. Your's is probably 95. You can get either for a replacement, the 95 amp unit should be a little cheaper.

you can put a 130A in it though with no modifications...i just did this like 2 weeks ago. Fit right in.

If you are running a large system I would go with the 130 amp instead of the 95. Like SSIKORA said it will mount up just fine.

When you buy it make sure you give them the right info, you have the OHV engine NOT the SOHC. Ford didn't put the SOHC in 1995 Explorer.

do the limiteds have a 130a alternater?

Limited explorers all have the 130 amp altenator:D
