What type of oil?

My owners manual didn't say anything, and there was nothing under the hood to let me know what type of oil I should use the last time I changed it. So, I put in 10w-40 is that o.k.?

I would not use 40 weight oil.

The recommend I by Ford ) is 5 W 30.

No harm done at all. As a mater of fact, you "could" use this oil, its just not the best choice.
