What would be louder bass?

2 12" rockford fosgates in a sealed box or 3 mtx 10" in a sealed box? Just a idea not worried what models and all witha kicker 700 pushing them.

well, think of it in math terms. 3 10" is 30" of surface moving air. The 2 12" are only moving 24" of air. 3 10's might sound louder, but quality 12's can do the same as 3 10's. Obviously 4 15's will sound much louder. Try Memphis 12's. They're pretty loud and decently priced. Otherwise, i've always been a fan of JBL GTO's (I have a single 12 in my X, and it's plenty loud powered by a single 400w monoblock)

Actually the 3 10"s have a surface are of 235, where as 2 12"s have a surace area of 226. Which means there's not much difference there. If you listen to music that gets lower I would go with the 12s.

Math was never my strong suit. But, the gist of it is, the 12's will sound better.
