whats going on?

hey, im new to the forum and i was just wondering if there was any cheap and easy way to make the engine on an explorer sound better/llouder ?

the things that i am aware of are: (in order of cheapness)
swiss cheeze air box-0$
home depot air intake-about 10$ then however much u want to spend on a filter
new mac(or other) intake-100$or more

exaust will also make it louder
