what is the piece(s) of black plastic called that goes between the grille and radiator core support? i assume its purpose is to direct air flow through the condenser and radiator. i need one for a 2000 Mountaineer is someone has a spare.

Radiator air deflector? I'm assuming you mean the curved flexible piece in front of the radiator (so not the shroud) and right behind the grille/above the bumper . . .

I'm finding a "LOWER" radiator air deflector (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-LOW...ts=Model:Explorer&hash=item53f5666fef&vxp=mtr) -- didn't know that piece actually deflects air -- so I'm assuming it would be the "UPPER" one you're looking for?

thank you for the replies. i think AP9 comes the closest. I guess it's called an upper air deflector, but i can't find one on ebay and i'm sure no one makes one anymore. i wish i lived closer to a pull-a-part.

My 97 had three pieces missing that I pirated from a 96-a large "scoop" that ran from the lower valance to the lower radiator support, and two side panels. They were made of hard plastic and somehow became broken. Ford calls these "radiator air deflector" the center piece is $55 the side pieces are $18 apiece.
