Puff puff PASS. Dude, you hit it all yourself, didn't you? JL is good stuff, I've been installing it since the early 80's (before it was even sold at retail), but I can assure you- there is better stuff at cheaper prices for ANY application. Even the much-heralded w7 is beatable (but not easily).
I see alot of people hyping up JL Audio subs in here... they are not bad subs for the money but they aren't the best either by any stretch of the imagination. There is a sub out there that nobody has mentioned in 3 pages of posts (which I find amazing)... the Orion HCCA 12.2
All you need is 1 of those subs in an enclousure built specifically for it and an amp capable of providing clean power to it.
When you want bass that will give you a heart murmur, shatter your eardrums and make you smile the entire time get one of these subs...
oh and btw there are videos on youtube of JL W7 subs LOSING to the HCCA 12.2 @ 3000w RMS! Each mounted in their ideal enclosures being powered by identical amplifiers in a controlled environment.
I'm not bashing JL Audio subs in any way... just seems like there are more people standing on the JL side of the line than any other for whatever reason
