hey,

loooking to upgrade my bulbs,
heard alot about Piaa superwhites, are these the platinum series bulbs??

also, are they really that great?
i have no problem spending the money for them, i just want to make sure they are worth all the band for the buck.

I don't really want that "blueish" tint to my lights....do they give that? If not what color is it...just really bright white, with no yellow???

thanks,

ryan

I have the PIAA "Platinum Series" 9004 Superwhites and love 'em. I think they are worth the price, for the difference from stock or regular bulbs.

The difference in color and light is extremely noticable, but these puppies mainly shine when its really really dark- just my low beams usually outshines stock vehicles with both their headlights and fog/driving lights on- and is whiter than anything except HID. As far as being "blue"- they have a blue tinge around the edge of the beam if you really really look when the light is on a bright object, but they will just appear very very very white outside the vehicle- and make other headlights look yellow by comparison.

Some people have had luck using cheaper brand "xenon" or "superwhite" bulbs. They are cheaper than PIAAs, but PIAAs claim is their bulbs last as long as regular ones- the imitations don't. PIAA bulbs are also SAE and DOT approved- i.e. street legal.

If you can get a good price on the PIAAs ($50-65/pair) I would tend to think they are at least a little higher quality than other brands, plus our own Matt Adams is always more than happy to help you with issues and questions related to PIAA products. :)
