So I replaced my upper control arms, not too difficult a task just time consuming and a little aggravating but all in all not too bad.
Well as would be expected my alignment is way off now and I brought it to the local garage guy who specializes in alignments, he has the best state of the art alignment pit etc... anywho he calls me and says he cant do it without the alignment kit at $111 per wheel for the parts which I know can be had for $58 but I dont think is necessary as I have had alignments in the past and this was never an issue.
He claims no its set from the factory and it cant be adjusted. My response is I just had the whole thing apart and it can be adjusted, you just want to sell me something I dont need and I tell him I will get them install them and be back ( with no intention of returning) I have scheduled with the dealership next week but since I have time to cancel that and consider other options I wanted ideas or suggestions from the group who may know more or have had this same issue
Thanks for any help.

just cause he knows how to read an alignment machines, does not mean he knows every vehicle, make/model and how to adjust them.

Alingment after upper control arm replacement?

I replaced mine a few miles ago, 03 Eddie, 4x4, and did not require an alignment. I did the rear toe compensator links which did require an alignment. I took it to my local guy and he did all 4 wheels for $39.95. The fronts were prefect and the backs were off about 4 turns per side. I don't think upper control arm replacement necessarily requires and alignment. Have the stealer check it out if you can tell it's off. I think if you reassembled it properly your alignment should still be what it was prior to replacing the upper control arms but I've been wrong before. :D
