sons 2002 ford explorer xls, going to get new tires and a wheel alignment, does this ford need the camber adjustment set ? like this:

http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...,1377660,suspension,caster+/+camber+cam,13510

Camber out of spec wears edges of tires. Caster out of spec causes steering anomilies, pull to one side. Toe-in out of spec tends to cause "pull" to one side also, as it is related to Caster. Caster is most important as it is responsible for returning the wheel to straight ahead after turning, and keeping the vehicle headed in a straight line without requiring constant effort on the part of the driver.

Most importantly, to answer your question, what did (does) the tread-wear pattern look like on the old tires? How many miles on them? Were they ever "rotated" side to side? If old tires wear pattern is reasonably acceptable, AND if the handling qualities of the vehicle are acceptable, i.e., little "pull" on level roadway, put on the new tires! Worry about alignment later. imp

according to previous owner, all the tires he's had installed all wear on the inside of the tires real bad, also truck pulls to the right, I just don't want to put new tire on and wear them out sooner than normal. are those the correct camber kit for this truck? thanks.

I used the moog brand camber kits. I put them on when I did the UCA's to make alignments easier to do for the techs.
