I own an '87 Ford Ranger. I found some 15" wheels for sale that came off a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I would like to put these on my Ranger. Is there any problems with them fitting. I realize the hole center size on the two are probably different, but will they bolt on and what about offset? Thanks.

Ranger bolt circle is 5 x 4.5" and offset is +12mm and I believe these dimensions have been that way from the beginning. Luckily, 2001 Sport Trac is the exactly the same. IIRC, the newer Ranger and Trac wheels have a smaller diameter center hole than 87 - that can sometimes cause interference problems with 4WD hubs or wheel center caps.

Bob,

Thank-you for the info. I went to look at the "15" wheels and when I got there I thought they looked a wee bit large for 15's. They turned out to be 16's. I really thought the '01 would have used 16's, and it did. It was a gal selling them and I guess she probably didn't know the difference. I was needing 15's, but the price was right so I bought them. They are 16" alloy wheels in excellent condition with caps. I got the set of 4 for $70. I will find a use for them at that price. Thanks again for the help.

Heck of a deal!
