wheel spacers bad idea?

so ive been looking at wheel spacers to make the 33s stick out a little more but i have a question.....there are spacers that cost 100 bucks and have studs on them i know those are better but
does anyone know if the stress on the studs would be too great with a wheel spacer "shim"?

i know in my personal opinion i would stay away from spacers all together. you may have to get longer wheel studs if u use the cheap ones from summit.:roll:

yea i was wondering, my buddys studs sheered off and his ram went on the rotor at 30mph....

i have been running spidertrax (sp?) spacers for about 6 months now just in the rear and i have had no problems. it has that nice wide look and keeps my 33's from rubbing while flexing

ok but is it just a shim or does it bolt on with a second set of lug nuts?

spacers?

ive heard all the talk about how they are horrible and wear ur bearings down bad and it will be more expensive in the long run. is it really that bad for them if you use hub-centric spacers? also what if you only have a tire like an inch above stock height?

I would personally stay away from spacers all together. All too often the lug nuts will come loose, and the next thing you know, your wheel is passing you. LOL
