This happened a while back just not so severe, found out it was the front pads, so i replaced them, since then it stopped; till this past weekend.

Heard a LOUD rubbing/thumping sound... almost like a flat tire... So i pulled over at a gas station and checked the tires, all inflated properly. Looked in the wheel wells, back of rims etc.. no packed snow/mud. Started pulling to the right slightly. Didnt do it for the rest of the night, Saturday, makes that noise again, this time last longer twice! each time i got out, shined flash light checked it all out.. nothing seems to be wrong. Got in it Sunday and today, and holy crap, when you press the brakes you havta fight with the steering wheel to go straight (faster your going when braking, A LOT worse) When you let off of the brake, it will go back straight, press brake pulls to the right.

Anyone know what can be causing this!?!

Your passenger side rear shoes are most likely dragging or binded up on the drum causing the right rear tire to braker harder then the left (hence the pull to the right). I had this same problem with the thumping. I took the drum off and the shoes were not sliding properly against the backing plate causing them to rub against the drum...rubbing equals heat equals thumping when braking.

Another problem i had that caused this too was when i applied the parking brake, it somehow ratched the shoes too tight (maybe cause of the cold...not sure) and the shoe needed to be re-adjusted.

Try checking out the back brakes to make sure they're lubricated against the backing plates so they slide as well as make sure they're properly adjusted.

If that's not the problem...not sure what else to look for. But I had the EXACT same symptoms as you mentioned.

Your problem could also be a sticking front brake caliper or collapsed brake line. Get the front wheels off the ground and hit the brake and see if each tire spins freely after letting up on the brake.

lol yeah i was told caliper to... however.. lol no longer a problem, explorer is undriveable.. waitting on a new drive shaft, lol.

How does the driveshaft have anything to do with pulling to the right when braking? Thumping maybe.

it was the thumping i was hearing, what i was saying is i was told it was the caliper when we checked it out, that it wasnt going back in, it was staying out... if that makes sense, lol the drive shaft comment was the thumping/ not fixing caliper til drive shaft gets fixed.. if fixed, lol the beast is going down hill on me, breaking faster then i can fix it.
