I am about to replace my airbox with a cone filter, but I don;t know what to do with the sensor that is located inside of the stock airbox. Any ideas? Thanks,

John

if your referring to the to hoses that connect to the top of the air box, what i did is take 2 screws and fit them snuggly into them. you only have to do one, not sure which is it....but i did both just to be safe.

good luck

if your referring to the to hoses that connect to the top of the air box,

I used a K&N filter,(#3093 or 3903, can`t recall) it has a rubber end on it. I just pried the metal keeper off the hose connections and took the hose connections off the stock airbox. I drilled two holes in the end of the K&N and re-installed the hose connectors. Not sure what those vacuum lines are for exactly, but figured I might as well keep a suck on them ;)

that's a good idea. does anyone know what they are for?

Hmm, I just found out what they are for, and maybe I could have plugged them anyway.

There is a switch in there that when cold, directs hotter air through the air filter to assist in start up when it is cold out. It basically opens a flap and draws air from around your exhaust manifold. It helps maintain a regulated intake air temperature.

I saw a thread talking about how you might suffer from having the air temperature so high in the compartment, and sucking it in the engine. I tore off the deflector from the intake between the headlights and rad/a/c evap. With the Idea that more air might be forced in there to be available to the filter. I would like to make a wider collecter to force more air up there, but haven`t got a plan yet. I`m gunna look at it some more.

I must say that the result of going to a cone was a shock! It really gives you more horsepower.
