Boston. My son just took up residence there, in Medford. In many ways it's nice, but the traffic & parking issue is miserable. He was kicking around living without a car, in fact, he and his new wife let hers go. But, they really have to keep one. He's envious of people with their "Smart Cars", who can park in tiny spots. When he moved there, I suggested riding a bicycle, but after visiting, I can see where that could be suicidal, and riding on sidewalks is forbidden. Otherwise, it was very nice visiting there. Public transit is great, and didn't feel unsafe anywhere. Awesome history!
I'm in a suburb 25 miles east of Cleveland, Mentor. That's where my son grew up, but he took to urban living with zeal. Here's an image of our relative distance from Cleveland:
Um, I have a feeling this thread may get moved, but maybe you can change the title to keep it on topic.
Lived for 10 years in one of the boroughs of NYC, never want to go back. You almost have to fist fight for a parking spot, finding a garage is next to impossible.
Now living in suburbs about 30 miles north of the NYC. Enjoying it everyday.
