i'm just about ready to do some performance mods to my explorer, and i figure with over 160K miles i should replace the clutch. i dont want another stock clutch, i want something stronger. i've looked and cant find any. does anyone know of a website where i can find one?
thanks

I got my Centerforce dual friction from truckperformance.com and I really like it. Totally grabs, great for dumping the clutch and you don't get that slip that I used to get with the stock clutch (and then that god awful stench)

ok, great. how longt did you break it in for?

500 miles. It was soo aggravating waiting to get all the way on it since everywhere I've read talks of how important it is to break in a clutch. The 500 miles came right at the same time I got my new 3.73 LS. So right after I got that in I got to enjoy two upgrades in one night. :)

with that dual friction clutch was the pedal feel a lot different? was it noticeably heavier? was it a real ***** to drive in traffic?

It actually was a lot lighter on the pedel. It was tough at first, but once it was broken in (about 400 miles) it drive great, I like the feel of it a lot better than the stock clutch.

was it lighter or did you just get used to it??

Right off the bat it was much lighter, although it would grab real easy so you'd have to be easy on it or you'dd stall it.
