OK,
I've been on the site for several years now, and I have an alternator issue that I need to fix. After much searching; I need a link or site to an alternator install step-by-step. I've never done one before; it looks like just 3 bolts and a wiring clip (with probably a bolt on the bottom) I was surprised at the difficulty I had in trying to find one as I thought it would simple find here. Any help is appreciated. Although I have an '01 Sport Trac I know it should be the same as another SOHC alternator install.

go to autozone, they can print you one out free

You pretty much have the steps but just get a repair manual -- they are well worth a lot more than the twenty or so dollars you'll pay for one.

Thanks guys... I forgot that Autozone has the ability to give you install instructions.

And yes... I really would be well served to get a manual (chilton's or other?), in hindsite I should've added it to my Christmas list!!:D I guess they're not real difficult to put in is that right?

Thanks JoeMahma, that's a great start for me... I'll have to spend a lot more time on that part of the autozone site. Since it's a hi of 18 today, I think I'll push it off till tomorrow when it's supposed to be 20 degrees warmer for a balmy 38 degree hi which is alot more comfortable. ;) Thanks again.
