Where do all my fellow Ford Explorers in Virginia go offroading?

i have a 1997 ford explorer sport 2 door with the 4.o sohc and i have been looking for places to go off-roading were are these places cuz i know they are around here somewere after all i live in fredericksburg aka frednecksburg everybody has a 4x4 but i dont know were to go to use it locations will help allot and also help with finding cheap parts will help too!

I did i searched off-roading in Virginia but it seemed like the thread was dead that's why i thought i would start a new one the last comment was in march so i didn't really think i would get a response do you know of any?

Look in the Offroad Run Planning and discussion forum, people usually post trips up there.

We've gone out to GW National Forest near Charlottesville a number of times; out there you've got the Shoe Creek and Stony Run trails. Both are around 2 hours from you and are great and legal to drive on. Stony Run is closed for the season right now but will open in the spring. I believe Shoe Creek is still open. I expect we'll be doing a Shoe Creek trip sometime in the next month or two, keep an eye out.

We usually go to the George Washington National Forest. There have been two trips this fall. Then there is the Outter Banks, there were two trips there this past year.

I expect there to be a trip to Shoe Creek this winter or early spring.

We only go to legal places. Sometimes you can find private property, that will allow limited access with permission.

Hook up with the local clubs, they are always looking for good new members.

i don't know about that part. I live in mechanicsville and my explorer is customized differently than what you're interested in. Big chrome wheels, audio, paint, ect.......
