This may seem a bit ridiculous, but I can't find it! I expected it to be on the hose between the compressor and condenser but it's not there.

There is one picture in this thread that shows the red hose going somewhere in front of the condenser. Guess I'll look around there.

on mine it goes from compressor to the to Drivers side to some thing in the front near the radiator.

Yes, that's where the hose goes. It is the service port where you attach the gauge that I can't locate.

High pressure port is on the drivers side, right off the a/c condensor.

Low pressure port is on the passenger side by the drier.

When you say "right off the AC condenser", should it bebetween the springlock and the condenser or the springlock and the compressor? Do I have to move something out of the way to get to it?

Its "on the hose" between the springlock and the compressor.

Is this on your 92? My old hose had nothing but hose between the compressor and springlock. The new Motorcraft hose has a fitting there, but it doesn't fit an R-12 service port. Is your service port screwed onto another fitting?

Yes, that is on our '92..

Now that you mention it.. that pic was taken after we replaced the hose once. The factory hose ran around the back of the engine. The replacement hose goes under the throttle body.

I'll take a look at those 1991 X's I'm parting out and see what those hoses look like.. I know one was retrofitted to r-134 (has the sticker on the core support) but I don't know about the other one.

edit: I just looked at my pic again.. Not only is that the replacement hose, but there is an r-134 fitting on top of the r-12 fitting. This must have been taken before the motor rebuild but after the r-134 conversion.

is that a remote mounted oil filter on your trans cooling hose?

Yes it is... It gets changed every oil change (7k-8k miles).. well, it was.. the X isn't a DD anymore so I'm not sure how often I'm going to change it since 7k-8k miles went from 2 months to probably a year or more.
