where is the egr valve on a 92 ,4.0l

stupid question i know, but where the hell is the egr valve? most typical ones i have always seen before are easy to follow from the tube of the maifold. but i can't find this one nor the tube from the exhaust manifold. any ideas?

im not 100% sure, but i dont think they were on the earlier explorers..... i know 94s had them but not sure about the other 3 previous years

Our 1992 XLT doesn't have an EGR..

The '92's don't have an EGR valve. I believe '94 was the first year the Explorer's got and EgR valve.

If 92 explorers did not have an egr valve, then how am i getting a code 33(egr sensor stuck open or closed) from the EEC-IV test.

i am pretty sure that they dont have an egr... maybe your scanner is set up wrong, or you read the code improperly.... what are the problems you are having with your truck?

92's don't have EGR. Recheck your codes. You should be glad you don't have it...one less thing to go wrong.
