I need to check the fuel press on my explorer, on my Haynes Repaire Manual, it seems located close to the engine oil-cap.

BUT.... on my 2003 Explorer Sport. The test port is not there.

any idea?

thanks

I worked PSU Ford Explorer project. It is a 2002 non-production explorer. We design a new tank, using the old float unit and meter.
Is there something wrong with your gas meter, or you don't have enough gasoline pressure?

well, i got a P1074 code on the engine, did some study and i need to test the fuel pressure to tell if it come from the fuel system or PCV module.

thanks

Are you sure it's not code PO174, that's usually the PCV eblow or valve itself on our trucks, that is right beside the throttle body and the oil filler neck. I'll post a picture of what it is in a minute.

Hmmm, nice catch. I just checked my the PCV elbow on my truck. it is broken.

i'll go and check if autozone has the parts.

I bought my new elbow from the Ford dealer and it was $29, it comes with the complete tube that goes around to the PCV Valve itself.

No, just the two or three clips that hold the top and bottom tube together, thats' it. easy one minute job. Looks more involved then it is.

:us:Yeah, agree. Install the $40 value PCV set is pretty easy on my truck. however, it's pretty hard to remove the old one. I need to use a knife to cut the old rubber tube at one end inorder to remove it from the metal pipe. Let me drive another 50 mile to see if the light goes on again.

Thanks Midnightrebel07 again. without your advice, i won't notice the PCV elbow.

It could sometimes take up to 10 cold to warm start ups to get the light to come on again if it's going to. I don't think you should have any light for that though.
