Can someone please tell me where the IAC valve is located on a 2002 Expl 4.0. I know what one is supposed to look like but am having a hard time pinpointing it in my engine compartment. A pic would be great.

Thanks

Try this pic, it's from a 91-99 so it may not be what you need. Just a try for ya. I couldn't find one for a 00+

The IAC is the silver device on top of the intake. This is a SOHC motor.

After many years of messing with IAC's on Mustangs I would suggest that you buy a new one. Cleaning them normally does not resolve the issue for long. Just a heads up

Still cant locate IAC Valve on 2002 Explorer

Hi, I am new here... my SES light came on lastnight and my Explorer started to kinda hesitate when I stop at a stoplight or what have you, so I took it into the dealer, and they ran a diagnostic and said that the O2 downstream, DPFE, and IAC were all needing changed. we changed the 02 and had the computer reset the SES went out, but after a very short while the SES came back on... and it started to do the hesitation like it wanted to stop again at the stoplights... so I suppose I need to go ahead and change the DPFE and the IAC Valve, but I just cant seem to locate the IAC even with the diagram/pic shown...by the way the dealer wants $501.00 to change these three sensors...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? I can buy them and do it myself for about $140 total...But anyway, can anyone give me a little better detail where to locate the IAC on my 2002 Explorer... Thanks Alot!
