Ok everyone, I need some ideas on where to install my cd changer if I hopefully get one this summer. It will be the Pioneer CDX-P680 6-disc changer. I would like to know where you guys think the best place is to mount a cd changer. Thanks.

I think the best place would be the stock location. Will the one you're looking at fit in there?

In theory it should fit in the center console. I asked Circuit City if they could install it in there for me and they told me know. But, that was with my old X. I'll see what they say. I can also take it to a local shop here who I know does custom installs so I might do that too.

Anyone else have input?

lots of changers won't fit in the console

but mine did! Eclipse 5083.
I'll see if I can find a pic.

Mine also fit in the center console

the local stereo shop in my hood installed a sony 10 disc cd changer in my center consol for me for 40 bucks on the install 185 for the sony mp3 10 disc changer to go along with my sony cdx m800 radio ... he did some cutting to get the larger changer in the consol lost my kleenex holder in the deal.but it was worth it ..i encode my mp3's at 320 bit rate to get the near cd quality but i normaly use about 500 megabytes of disc space on each cd ...it's just hard as hell finding songs on my disc....i use the memorex black disc for burning ...once you go black .you never come back
BTW.. i did the amp bypass thingy my self it was a piece of cake with all the help from the search engine.. had to splice the by pass harness in with wire nuts but i located a site that had the correct wireing sequence for my speakers...sounds really good after i by pass the stock amp..

My changer is mounted on the dip in between the passenger and drive side area. In front of the center console. Easy to get to, and the 3-foot cord was $30.
