I need to know where is a good place to buy gears, and about what would it cost? I think I am leaning toward 4.56 or 4.88. They will be put on the solid D44 front and, I believe, the 9" rear axle off of a '77 Bronco.

Ebay is the first place to look. There may even be some for those axles right now.

4 wheel parts and Randy's ring & pinion sell gears as well.

Be wary of Randy's Ring and Pinion. I know they have been advertised on this page and you get a discount if you mention to them as being part of this page, but the discount still doesn't make them cheaper. Plus, I don't exactly what brand of gears they sell, but I have been told that they are cheaper brands made in India and while they come with lifetime warranties, they will still make money on them if they break because they are cheap. I could be wrong on this though. I got mine from 4 Wheel Parts. They sell Superior and Precision gears, which are some the strongest if not the strongest gears out there. Plus, I paid less for the gears through 4Wheel Parts than Randy, even with the discount.
