Hi,
I have a 1998 Explorer with a V8/AWD. I did search for the sway bar bushings in particular when I been having to use WD-40 once in a while to keep it from squeaking over speed bumps and gutters.

One of the places, rockauto.com sent me an email saying that they do not have this part. Even my local auto parts stores do not have what I need. I am interested in the rubber kind, not the synthetic poly ones.

Where can I find them?

Thanks,
Shane

The sway bar bushings came from Ford without grease fittings. Supposely, they last the life of the vehicle. I had it replaced one under warranty, but the grease dry out in a short time. I am looking for a greaseable ones with zerks or fittings.

Thanks,
Shane

Pepboys has the greasables with zerks but only in poly, do not think you will find the rubber type with zerks

I live in Alaska. We do not have PepBoys here. I ordered the poly bushings from Explorer Express, but when I got them, there is no zerks or grease fittings on them. So, I emailed them about it and waiting to hear their response on this.

Even rockauto.com does not have poly bushings with the grease fittings. I know that many folks have them on their second generation Explorers. So, I am having a hard time finding the one with the fittings.

Thanks,
Shane

One thing you can do with the EE polys, is drill and tap the bracket, and screw in zerks, you will also need to drill thru the poly bushing so the grease gets to the bar.
Or you can shop peps online, you will need to know the exact Dia. of the bars.
Or I will be happy to pick them up and ship them to you

You can get Energy Suspension bushings with grease fittings. I have them on my front and rear sway bars. Autozone sells them but there are no locations in Alaska. Anyhow, greasable Energy Suspension bushings are what I would recommend.

there was a guy on the sport trac forums taking the stock ones and putting greese fittings on them. i dont remember what he was charging but thats an idea.

35 bucks as I recall, is a no brainer, simple project, did mine for two bucks and 20 mins time, in reality accept upon initial installation, I feel lubeing them on a regular basis is a waste of time and grease

I called Explorer Express and they said the bushings would be too tight to be greaseable by zerk or grease fittings. So, if they squeak down the road, it is best to remove them and grease them really well. So, I will keep what I have. Thanks for your help.

Shane
