Found this doing a search. Can someone tell me where I can find and what belt I need if I get the 200 amp alternator from mralternator. I read that the pully is smaller and a new belt is needed, But I need to know which one to buy. Thanks

i just went to the autoparts store and asked for one 2 inches shorter

Where

Where do you get the 200 amp alt? I would go to Napa and get a Gates belt. Anything else isn't worth the money. Those factory belts and hoses last forever Gates belts are the closest to factory quality you can find in aftermarket they are as good or beter.

How about with the 5.0L. Is it still just a matter of getting a 2" shorter one. Anyone that bought a 200 amp alt. with the 5.0L, what did you do for a belt? Is there a part number for one or something. How do you know how much shorter to get the belt for the right belt tension without slipping. Is it just trial and error, or will MrAlternator tell you the size belt you need with their alternator? Thanks for the help

just 2 inches shorter because the pulley on the alt is shorter and the belt tensioner will make up for the rest

I used the same belt (factory) that I was using with the stock alternator. I haven't noticed any problems but should I be expecting any?

The belt tensioner has two markings on the housing and one on the arm for measuring wear.
As long as the arm mark is between the housing marks all is well.

2" will probably be too short.
I went down a 1/2" and was perfect.

2 inches worked for me it was a little snug but i fugured it would strech
