I prefer the power of the 5.0 vs. my Navajo's 4.0 OHV but I sure wish I had the gas mileage of my Moms 2000 SOHC

I had 4.0 ranger for a little while, loved that motor, just if you're going to swap one in, or even if you're not, the best advice I can give off road with that engine in a ranger/B2/ex platform( I think the drop on the front axle is the same from ex to ranger) is swap a Dana 20 T-case, with a dual stick kit. Trust me, you'll love it.
