Ok So I've been looking into replacing these piece of **** fogged up lights I have right now, so I am replacing all my front end with clears. So now I have clear lenses for brighter bulbs. Im getting a higher wattage wire kit as well. So What are the brightest, blue white looking blubls I can get....like the BMW look or new altima/Maxima headlights? Thanks

PIAA Star (Plat.Super White) & sylvania Silverstars are both standard wattage and in the 3800K color range. Not much of any blue. Reg. bulbs are appx. 32000K. So to get blue your probably looking at 4000K & above. The bluer the bulb the less light it puts out. They look good but you cant see good, especially in wet conditions. The BMW ect. use a 3800K bulb. The color is prizem effect from the projector lens.
Just get some cheap ebay 8000K blue bulbs & see if you like them. A lot of people do. As your eyes age they loose the ability to see all the blue spectrum. So, to my old eyes the blue bulbs suck.
I mentioned in another post that I had had no problem w/high wattage bulbs. I didnt say that my experiance was only w/OEM housings. Some one else mentioned that after running a high wattage bulb in an aftermarket housing he noticed the housing discoloring ect. Just something to keep in mind.

Silver Stars are the way to go. Thos Blue ones dont work worth **** and they are poorly made.

not only that but anything not WHITE is illegal

Not unless it came with the car oem. Like the Navigators have purple in them on the higher model and some BMWs are the same.

those are oem HIDS and a whole nother ballpark

So I should get the Silver Stars? What bulb should I get? Like the 3800K bulb like Bill Kemp said? those should be really bright with the new clear biamond cut headlights and the upgraded wire harness? but shouldnt be too hot to discolor the chrome or whatever in the housing? thanks alot for the help

?

Id go with the PIAA's lifetime warrenty! ive had mine for 2 years there about $65 also the silverstars are good i heard, they do emit a little blue, they are the only dot legal aftermarket balbs out there, the apc's are junk and not legal, had them and i thought i was tripping or somthing driving at night, they emit a blue, green, orange.. only lasted me a week till i got pulled over.
-lastly with the PIAA's and silverstars you dont need the upgraded wiring they are the stock wattage..

Yea butare they brighter than OEM bulbs? Thats the whole point of why I'm getting new bulbs

With the harness and either PIAAs or Silverstars you will be much brighter than oem.

I use the PIAA Xtreme White PLUS on my explorer w/ stock harness and its two times brighter than my stock bulbs. Theyre pure white with a slight blue tint and extreme light cut off. Looks very nice. I recommend the PIAAS.
