To be honest, i do have an angle on this poll, but i think its a valid question. I, like prettymuch everyone else on here, want more power outta my explorer. i was looking for equally both better mpg and hp, i have a 4.0 ohv 98 sport and was wondering if you guys think its worth it to spend 200 on an intake, or something else, like vegas. weeeeeeeeee.
thanks :.D

by the way, on K&N's page it said the explorer ohv has only 135 hp! with a 3 hp increase. not cool.

I've used both MAC and Volant on my 2000 Sport (SOHC). I much prefer the Volant. It's just a more refined product, and I didn't care for the chrome look of the MAC. Performance wise, they're about the same most likely.

Either intake makes a difference. Make sure you're doing exhaust and a chip/flasher. These mods go hand in hand.

Yea the OHV engine isnt a hotrod but has good torque and is a work-horse of an engine.

Go with the intake, but dont expect neck-snapping results.
