I have the 05 4L and want to run a cold air intake. Which intake will work with the 05? Volant looks to work but the only thing that seems to be off is the MAF sensor. I looked at the one they show on the Volant site and then looked looked at mine and they look like they are different. Any help would be great. I dont want to have to go spend money on a MAF sensor to make this work.
Hey Rammer - you don't need to spend anything more than 50 bucks for a cold air system as they are all actually the same, just paying more for the name and none actaully fit right out of the box or perform better than the other. Because of the integrated MAF sensor on the stock air box you'll need to cut a slot in the new aluminum tube for your sensor and bolt in on behind the new cone filter... Really all you need is a L6"xD3" piece of tube from Pep Boys and a new filter... the stock hose and clamps are good as they are...

this dude has the rite idea... what i did was buy a 30 dollar filter from pepboys and got the "mass airflow sensor" piece for 15 bux... since all the filters r pretty much the same material (cotton), theres no need to get a big name brand like K&N cuz it would have so close to the same performance as the cheap cotton filter that u wouldnt be able to tell... what i did was take the "MAF" piece and drilled a hole in each corner that matched up where my airbox unbolted.. i put the two screws in and left the MAF alone and everything has worked out fine... after 2 or 3 tanks of gas, ur ECU will have adjusted and ur gas mileage will improve... heres a pic of what it looks like.. may not be the prettiest thing, but it does what i need it to do, and it was my own fabrication.. nothing better than appreciating ur own work
