I am at a stand still here. I really dont know what lift kit to get, i will be wheeling my rig but it is also a daily drive(for now) until i get another truck to drive. Then it will be a strickly desert vehicle. This is the main lift kit i have been considering but i am also wandering about the drop bracket lifts an there quality and how sturdy they are. I have been considering this from camburg

Entry Level Performance Off-Road System

5" Lift

10" Travel
$1650 Parts
$2500 Installed

This system if for mild off-road use. Will clear 31" tires.
Cut and Turned Beams
Custom Radius Arms
Eibach Coil-Springs
Bilstein Shocks pr.
Cam Kits
Brake lines
---------------------------------------------

It looks like a pretty decent kit but then i look at drop bracket kits and they are a third of the price and i would be able to buy tires and gears with the extra money. I will be doing mostly hard packed and some minor jumps and climbing. I will be running probably 32 inch bfgs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jumps and high speed desert play = regular lift kits are evil! due to the drop brackets. They place to much leverage on the frame.Just like when you use a cheater bar on a breaker bar to bust a tight bolt lose.
I`m not saying drop bracket kits dont have thier place, but high speed desert is not it.

the camburg kit you posted above is a good foundation kit for a desert truck. And keeps the price near that of a drop bracket kit.But is upgradeable to nearly bullet proof.

I see that you live in santee, you do know of all the local shops around you,one of them may build you something of the same nature and keep you local in case a problem comes about.

G&R fab,619-691-0327 I`ve heard alot of good about them, but I have not used them myself.

of the same family but diffrent shops. Both Perry`s and Chad are very helpful and informative. And will show you why, other than just telling you.Just call and set something up with them to come look and see what they have to offer. (proably wont beable to get ahold of ethier of them for the next week.As they are proably at the baja 1000) If perry offers you a ride in the EX. dont take it, as you will never look at yours the same.

autofab.com Jon`s been around since the birth of I beams I think.simple, trick and bullet prof all in one.even has a kit to put a 44 under the EX.

stengerbuilt.com has been around for sometime and has kept a good name.

spiritracing.com anouther shop that has been around for along time.

give some of these shops a call next week as most of them will be gone for the baja 1,000 this week.

yes i know of most of the shops but camburg seems the best for the price, i checked autofab because i work right down the street from them and there 4x4 explorer kit is like 3200.

did you ask John about the middle of the road kit?same price and alot closer to you.
