Go with 4". I went with 2.5" James Duff and 31's only to rip it out and install a Stupidlift 5" and SOA rear and go 33's.
This of course is after I swore I would never make my rig into a redneck bush buggy like the other knuckleheads on this site! Meet your fate...go big or go home. Just my 2cents.

Cheers

lift

thanks for the comment I was kinda leaning towards te 4in lift,
one question how do you like the superlift brand

I think that Superlift is a crappy lift kit. The springs are too stiff, the welds are poor, the brackets are poorly designed and built, but they do have a good warranty program. My James Duff lift was twice the quality of the Superlift and I think they now make a 4" lift. If you want your front end to articulate well you need to buy extended radius arms with your kit.

I got the 4" Superlift. The parts were dead on and haven't had any problems yet. If I had it to do again, I'd go for the 5.5"SOA. I checked each piece before installing the lift and found no crappy welds or even missing pieces. With the help of one other person we had it together in one full day( no air/power tools ). I opted not to get the extended arms yet, but they are in the near future. I don't think you'll dislike the Superlift and you can probably get softer springs( ask them about it). i say go with the 5.5 superlift. Im happy with it, well i only have the drop brackets and the extended radius arms i replaced the other stuff coils and stuff like that. I think you will regret not getting the bigger lift

It is not that I am totally dissatisfied with Superlift, but many people on the site have had problems with bending the drop brackets and weld breaking on the radius arms. I personally had problems with the SOA kit. 2 welds began to crack and I basically rebuild them. I think Superlift would still be a good choice...I am sure all other kits have similar problems. ie: my James Duff kit came with the wrong size U bolts.

Well...I originally had a 4in skyjacker which I loved, but craved for more...so in went 6in springs in the from and a set of custom shackles in the rear...also the first 4in lift I had was the Class 2....the more expensive of the skyjackers....but I loved it....I had 31's and never had em rub over the course of 6 months...Thanks.....Pete

I to have the 4" skyjacker class II. I installed the kit by myself in two days after work, and a saturday. After two years, no complaints. I went with the stiffer shocks and the ride is great. My father-in-law who is accustomed to Buicks and Pontiacs can't believe the ride. And it flexs and wheels well to. What ever you do I would suggest going with the extended radius arms. I have riden in and drove lifted rangers/explorers with and without these and they seem to make a huge difference. Enjoy your project.
