I have a 1993 explorer 4door that I am planning on lifting. I am considering the Rancho 2.5 in, The superlift 4 in, The rough country 4 in, and the trail master 4 in. It is an 85 percent street driver so I want good handleing on the street. Which lifts have you guys had the best luck with? I want to run 32 in BFG at's.

For 32x11.50 on 8" rims, I don't think the 2.5" lift will be enough.. If it is, it will be very close.

We run a Duff 2.5" lift.. and we used OME-36 springs instead of the add-a-leaf they sent. The Rear is just fine, the front however may have problems.

With 32" tires and just the lift I had to remove the inner fenderwell or it would hit when the wheels were turned (this was on the street).

When off-road the tire would get within 1/2 " of the rear of the fenderwell opening (lower corner, by the door).

since then we have added the f-150 spacer which means we are bascially a 2.5" lift with a 1.5" spacer.. might as well go with the 4" lift.

don't get me wrong... I love our Duff kit.. The company is great to deal with.. I got part of my front steering into a drop bracket and bent the bracket.. they sent us a new part free..

if it is maily a street driver go the rancho 2.5 inch lift with 31x10.50's on 8 inch rims that will work well for on and off road handling or go the SKYJACKER or TRAILMASTER 4 inch lift with the 32's that will be ok but be a little taller dont use superlift i dont know much about the rough country lifts

skyjacker! I say go 4" but with this it's the same brackets that go with the 6" kit so when you want to go bigger, you drop down to the lower set of holes and buy the 6" springs. Oh and by the way it's when not if you want to go bigger.

Sky jacker hands down I've seen to be the toughest.. 2nd to that, I'd say James Duff b/c of their strenght

If your heart is set on 32's, then get a Skyjacker Stage II 4". It is an excellent lift. If you are willing to sacrifice only a half an inch of ground clearance and get 31's, then get a Duff 2.5". I love mine. It is very nicley made and very effecient.

Where is the skyjacker stage 2 4 in kit available from

I am also thinking about a lift kit. I was looking at a few and you guys suggested Skyjacker. How much does this kit cost? I am looking at the 6" kit. Might as well go bigger to start that way I only need to buy one kit. Instead of two or three. Also, I was looking for a small kit for right now. I am running 32's with a 3" body lift. It rubs a little. I really don't want to trim the fender. Is the Skyjacker 2" lift pretty good deal. I noticed they use a add-a-leaf for the rear. Is this for the under axle or over axle?

This is a link were I found them. Tell me what you think.

Dead Link Removed

I think 930 for 6" lift is kinda high! Maybe I am wrong.

I have the TrailMaster 4" on my '92 and I haven't had any problems with it yet. It's been on my truck for over 2 years and I beat the hell out of it. I fit 33s on it with the 4" lift without any rubbing. I didn't trim anything, but did hammer some of the firewall area back. I would go 4" and eventually you can put 35s on it like me with some cutting after you realize yoiu want to beat the crap out of it. :D I'll post a pic of it 1 hour after I lifted it.

I have the 2" on right now. The rear add a leaf is for the SUA. It just re-arcs the spring pack. In the end it gives you a good inch more than when you started. The stock u-bolts work fine.
