Which Model Years CD Unit will fit?

In addition to our 96 Limited, we have a 93 Eddie Bauer andthe cassette has quit working. I would like to change it out to a single CD unit, using another later year model unit.

Which other model years will be work? Like to keep it OE if possible, using another Explorer unit. Thanks for your help!

91 -94 are pretty much the same .just different if you have the premo sound

Pull out the radio...If the back of the radio has two identical looking plugs, then you can't use a Ford Cd player without doing modifications.

If You have one Rectangle, and one Square black plug on the back, a 91-94 cd player will work on the same circuit. The 91-92 models might not look good in the 93 slot though.
