hey guys, i just started taking my explorer off road and it's a blast. but now i'm looking into a lift and bigger tires. which of these lift kits would be best for my explorer:
Trailmaster 4" suspension
Performance Accessories 3" Body lift
Trailmaster 3" Body lift

i'm thinking the suspension lift obviously. does it come with everything i need? and is it easy? i will be doing this myself. i was reading some stuff about having to extend the steering and other stuff on some vehicles. i dont want to have to go through all that. will i have to with my explorer? here is what it is:
1992 explorer XLT
5 speed manual transmission.

thanks,

You been on this site this long and haven't lifted your truck yet? j/k

I just have the 3" BL, and I think it's fine for a small amount of money. I think I would do a suspension now though.

avoid trailmaster. But go with suspention lift.

avoid Traimaster?
what is a good company? i dont want to spend a fortune yet.
:)

Sky jacker has real nice springs, I just got the 6" superflex leafs to raise my rear to match the front, very soft springs, truck was like a trampoline with out shocks, but you do pay for quality. Form our local 4x4 shop, www.ok4wd.com it was $500 for the springs and ubolts. Then again, they are 6" lift. Definately go Suspension, the main reason the guys with newer truck have BL is because there are no real kits for the 2nd gen+, and the 2 there are, are about 1500, too much

thanks guys. i will go with a 4" suspension lift. does the kit include everything i need? will i have to change driveshafts? or do anything with the steering or brakes? i only want a 4" lift for now.

For now:D Just ask the place where you get the kit form, I can't really help you, I didn't get a "kit" per say:D

I believe it comes with everything except the extended brake lines. I don't think you need to worry about the driveshafts.

Leenjen, just go with the skyjacker 6 inch lift. You will wish you had once you put the 4 inch lift on I dont think it is even that much more expensive.

As for the Rear. 35 bux SOA
