Whine coming from speakers of stereo...Any ideas?

Hey I found the fix for our problem and it worked 100%!! Finally after battling this whine noise for over a year i found the fix the problem is in the Head Unit(HU) itself it isn;t properly grounded so grab some 14 gauge wire or so and wrap it around these two screws and around the rca terminals on the back of the HU. I guess this is a known issue with Pioneer decks only here is a picture to better explain what I mean

Now you can Enjoy a whine free no engine noise whatsoever you owe me your kidney for finding ouyt how to fix this lol

Does this happen all the time?

so you are still unable to fix the problem?? I have the same issue with my 2001 xlt

CD, MP3, radio? Do you always here the noise?

Will try

I will try that fix. The only problem is my deck has 3 sets of rca outs, sub, front, rear. The sub and front would be the ones listed in that pic but the rears are a set of rca cables running off of the back on the other side of the deck. Maybe just doing the two will help?

I also noticed that if I touched the screwdriver to a screw on the amp and then to a speaker lead the noise dropped a ton ! Is it safe to ground a speaker lead to a screw on the amp in addition to the lead its supposed to go too?

If I could do the above afformentioned it would be excellent! Any ideas?

How are the connections on your amp? Make sure that there is not a stray strand of the copper wire that is touching the case of the amp.

Not much of an improvement

So I grounded the RCA's on the back of the HU there was a little improvement but nothing too substantial.

I will check for any stray copper wire today though it is raining outside...after this shot I give up lol it is (listenable) just not as lout as I would have liked..

take and post some pictures of the back of your headunit and take another pic of your main ground to the amp
