whining noise

have a 96 x have this intermiten wine noise that sounds like it might be the electric fuel pump i sometimes feel it in the floor at idel, any takers ?

My fuel pump went bad, was whining really loud, coming from the gas tank. Replaced it, it went away.

do you hear it when the ignition is on or only when the engine is running?

My fuel pump did the same thing .
