But you are a pro. I should have all my parts by Monday. I have the shift kit done and all valves working smoothly. Pump in done and the reverse servo is finished.
Bob T
Hey Bob T,
Right now I consider myself successful at rebuilding my 5r55e for my 2000 ford Ranger.
This morning I buttoned up the reinstall under the vehicle, added fluid and fired it up. I kept on adding fluid while running in park, until it sucked in about 81/4 quarts . jumped in and shifted into reverse but did not feal a shift and my tires did not start spinning, so I added another 3/4 quarts, jumped back in and this time it went into reverse. Finished running each gear, and everything worked fine.
Took it for a test run around town and everything sounded and felt good. Wound up adding another quart to bring the total to 10. Pulled over often to check fluid level and temperatures at the pan. I never exceeded 160 degrees stop and go and freeway driving.
So far no engine or overdrive lights.
Will see!
Well I rebuilt my 5r55s and finally got it installed and filled with fluid. I pumped it in through the back sensor hole. So my first drive with it was bad. did not shift right had od light flashing and ck trans light.
Ran the codes and I think it had every code there was. I forgot to tighten the bolt on the wire harness into the solenoid pack
After tightening it everything seems ok, no blinking lights. I have not had it out on the main road to get it up to speed but it seems good. SO time will tell. I have to get ins on it and it needs tires and some other things.
